German engineered safety for wherever you go.
Big journeys don’t need to cost the earth: Thanks to the best balance between tyre size and component distribution, the EcoContact™ 6 and its high-tech silica compound improve rolling resistance, so that you reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Wherever your journey may take you, the EcoContact™ 6 will perfectly adapt to the road conditions. The advanced Green Chili™ 2.0 compound reduces tyre wear, so you can go further.
There is wet performance, there is dry performance and then there is the EcoContact™ 6. With its tailor-made pattern, asymmetric rib and sipe geometry, the EcoContact™ 6 always keeps you in control whatever the conditions.
The German magazine Moove (new mobility Podcast from auto motor und sport) has published in their issue 03/2019 a Summer Premium and Eco Tyre Test 2019. The tested tyre size were 205/55 R16 91 V, 225/45 R 17 94 W and 155/70 R 19 84 Q, test vehicle was a VW eGolf.
This is the first published European Magazine tyre test on an e-Car. The weighting of this magazine test is safety oriented.
Main test size was 205/55 R 16. 225/45 R 17 was added as the usual wide base tyre on the Golf. As concept tyre the magazine added a 155/70 R 19 OE tall and narrow tyre from the BMW i3, this tyre is too tall for the vehicle and for that reason no Rating was given.
The test was conducted by Moove (ams) at the Contidrom, Jeversen, Germany (wet and dry tests).
